Mangroves are evergreen forests that hold unique flora and fauna not found in other types of forests
In Mumbai, mangroves are found along both the east and west coast - in areas like Vikhroli, Gorai, Bandra, Mahim, and Sewri, with a few having luxuriant mangroves.
The wetlands of mangroves also act as an important stopover for over hundred species of migratory birds including magnificent flamingos, gulls, terns, avocets and curlews. Several waders like Herons, Egrets, Storks, Sandpipers, and Flamingos inhabit mudflats. Besides birds and different species of butterflies you may also sight mammals like Golden Jackal, Indian Mongoose, Wild Boar etc
Trail duration - 7.15am to 10.15 am
Appropriate for age group between 10 years- 65 years.
Godrej does not charge anything for any type of environmental program. The ticket charges levied are on behalf of Mumbai Musafir group for organising, promoting and managing this event.
Schedule for the trail
Meet at 7.00 am
Program will start with briefing about mangrove adaptation, biodiversity of flora and fauna found in Mangroves.
Followed by two hour long birdwatching trail
Snacks and tea will be provided.

Other Dos and Don'ts
Each visitor must follow designated nature trails with the programme facilitator(s).
·Please do not touch any plant or animal spotted during nature trail. Do not explore plant canopy or soil on your own. Please bring all interesting observations to notice of the programme facilitator(s).
·A First Aid box is available with Godrej Mangroves security check post. Feel free to ask for it for any medical emergancy.
· Please do not litter.
· Consumption of alcohol and tobacco is strictly prohibited within Godrej premises.
·Please park your vehicles only at the designated space indicated by the security guards or program facilitators to avoid road blocks or accidents.
