Gokarna Beach Camping

Gokarna is a small beach town on the west coast of India on the Arabian Sea in the Indian state of Karnataka, just around 150km south of the Goan capital of Panaji.

This is one of the best places for someone starting out in trekking and camping, as it offers manageable gradients in the climb, with beautiful vistas all over the trek.

​

Gokarna can be visited all time round the year, however, the winter months of October - March are the best suited as the temperature remains warm and pleasant and the nights are cool and breezy.

​

The Gokarna event is generally paired either with Sathodi Waterfall, Vibhooti Waterfall, Yana Cave formations, or Murudeshwar visit.

​

This is overall a suitable event for someone who is looking to relax with only a little bit of effort.

Depart from Hyderabad by bus/train to Hubli.

 Saturday 

• 0700 hrs - Reach Hubli in the morning
• 0800 hrs Board hired mini-bus towards Gokarna
• Breakfast en route
• 1200 hrs - Reach Gokarna around noon
• Lunch at Om Beach
• 1330 hrs - Start trek to Paradise Beach
• 1630 hrs - Reach Paradise Beach
• 1631 hrs - Swim in the sea
• 1830 hrs - Set up camp
• 2100 hrs - Dinner

 Sunday 

• 0500 hrs - Wakeup call
• 0600 hrs - Start trek to Belekan beach
• 0700 hrs - Board the waiting minibus towards Vibhooti/Sathodi/Yana/Murudeshwar
• Breakfast en route
• 1000 hrs - Reach Vibhooti/Sathodi/Yana/Murudeshwar
• 1200 hrs - Start towards Hubli
• Lunch en route
• 1700 hrs - Reach Hubli and board bus/train
