Based on a story by Bibhutibhusan Bandyopadhyay, it narrates how two people fell in love, drifted far apart, and met again, a long, long, time later. Sandhya Roy and Anup Kumar perfectly portray Hiru and Kumu, and we are overwhelmed by the simple strength of their talent. Prepare to be enchanted, again, by the moving performances, that over the years have simply refused to fade away. The appreciation for this movie is effortless because Classics never go out of style. Winner of National Film Award for the best feature film in Bengali in 1971, and several BFJA awards, the film also comprises melodious music by Hemanta Mukhopadhyay (who won a National Award for Nimantran), Kanika Bandopadhyay and others.
