About The Event

Kudremukh in Kannada means ‘horse-face‘ and refers to an impressive scenic sight of a side of the mountain that looks similar to the face of a horse. It is a small village located at a distance of 96 km from the district of Chikmagalur and about 335 km from Bangalore of Karnataka. Nestled in the Western Ghats, the forest is spread over an area of 600 sq km at an altitude of 1,894 m above sea level. Kudremukh is a pride of the Western Ghats and it is the third highest peak of Karnataka.

During monsoon and post-monsoon the beauty of Kudremukh enhances, it looks no less than a green carpet some also says Kudremukh is Scotland of India.

It is an ideal place for trekking and an overnight journey from Bangalore makes it most convenient destination for weekend getaways. Natural grasslands and dense Shola forests make the greenery of these undulating hills eye-catching.

Please Note: The Forest Permission has changed for this trek. Only 50 Participants are allowed in the mountain range in a Day. Although we try our best to gain the permission, sometimes it happens that we do not get the permission from the forest department. The decision of acceptance and rejection from DF (Department of Forest) happens at the start point check post of the trek based on the count. If in case we do not reach the check post in time to gain permission, naturewalkers would arrange another beautiful trek like Kurinjal or Bavikonda from the same region. We do not wish to change our plan at any cost but considering DF we do not own any control over the national park region.
