The Ocular Surface Workshop (OSW) is an exclusive, focused, intensive and yet informal and interactive meeting for practising cornea specialists and trainees seriously interested in ocular surface disease and its management.
Each year the workshop brings together renowned ocular surface experts and enthusiasts from across the globe to share their experience and knowledge. It is an unique opportunity for all participants to learn from one another, irrespective of eminence, seniority or background. The program includes clinical updates, live ocular surface surgical demonstrations, clinic-based case discussions and wet-lab sessions. Every effort is made to provide ample space and time for the participants to interact directly with the experts in this field. The theme for the upcoming workshop is dry eye disease. The CME on 19th January, Sunday will focus solely on helping practitioners improve the level of care for the dry eye patients in their practice.
We have tentatively divided the meeting (OSW 2020) into two parts.
Day 1 (Saturday, 18 Jan) will be a round-table format with around 75-80 participants (mix of scientists and clinicians), focusing on clinical and basic research in ocular surface diseases, including a session on lacrimal regeneration, followed by case-based discussions and dinner.
Day 2 (Dry Eye 2020, Sunday, 19 Jan) will be CME styled with 150-200 participants (clinicians), which will focus on practical aspects of dry eye management in clinical day-to-day practice.
Dr S K Rao from Chennai, Dr Rohit Shetty from Bangalore, and Dr Anat Galor and Dr Guillermo Amescua from Miami will be the Visiting Faculty for the meeting.
