Brief Overview: 

Hernan Fernandez and Camilo Kejner, Managing Partners of Angel Ventures, a leading Venture Capital Fund in Latin America, will join us on April 10, 2019 at 4 pm at the WeWork, Residency Road, Bangalore to discuss the business/entrepreneurial landscape in Latin America, and opportunities the regions present for Indian start-ups and investors. Companies like Oyo, Practo, and others have already expanded into the region. Latin America with a population of nearly 650MM people and an economy of 5.5 Trillion USD, is an important and increasingly lucrative market for aspiring global start-ups.

 

About the Speakers:

Vivek Boray:

Vivek is a start-up attorney, has represented numerous start-ups and later-stage technology companies as their external general counsel. He is experienced in start-up formation, venture capital investments, financing transactions, and other private equity and debt securities offerings, as well as commercial debt financing, technology licensing, joint-venturing, corporate restructuring, recapitalizations and merger and acquisition transactions. He has represented emerging companies in a variety of industries as well as venture capital funds. He also has a significant experience advising on cross-border matters. He has worked as a corporate attorney with leading law firms in Silicon Valley, New York City, and the Middle East.

Vivek also works hands-on in incubating startup concepts, building products and commercializing them. Flowmetry is a recent example of this. In addition to this, He's involved in content creation and production, including film and digital media, event curation and development. He sits on several non-profit boards as well.

 

Hernan Fernandez: 

Hernan is the founder of AV Network, the largest angel investor network in Latin America, and has been recognized by TechCrunch as the most influential angel investor in Mexico. Previously, he was a consultant for the United Nations Development Program (UNDP) in the United States and Paraguay; a corporate lawyer for PwC in Mexico and France; and a consultant with Booz&Co. He is currently a member of the board of directors of the Mexican Venture Capital and Private Equity Association (AMEXCAP). Hernan holds a law degree from the ITAM and an MBA from MIT.

 

Camilo Kejner:

Camilo was a member of the board of directors for a group of technology startups that obtained more than USD$160 million in venture capital investment. He was also COO and EVP of EMI Music Global for the private equity firm Terra Firma, as well as regional director of New Line Cinema in Latin America, for which he developed the Lord of the Rings franchise. Camilo has a degree in business administration from UCS in Argentina, and an MBA from MIT.
