Workshop on Blockchain

Overview

This is a workshop to help participants understand what is a blockchain, what are the differences between blockchain and cryptocurrencies, types of blockchains and examples, how blocks are formed,underlying cryptographic algorithms, solidity language, smart contracts, truffle framework and web3js. Introduction to hyper ledgers is also given. Overall motivation and goal of this workshop is to show how blockchains work and how we create an private blockchain for ourselves. .

This Workshop will start with definition of blockchain, creation of blockchain accounts and transaction flow will be explained. Types of wallets ,how and best ways to store cryptocurrencies. After that will explain different types blockchains with examples along with different paradigms like (proof of existence, proof of work, proof of stake). Introduction to ethereum and different types of frameworks like Truffle , plugins like metamask, Virtual machine like EVM. Explaining smart contracts and how to create them using solidity is explained.Important concepts like R3 , Web3.js, Multichain, Hyper ledgers is discussed.

Will start with what is private blockchain and how to create them using geth(Go-Ethereum). Proof of existence sample project and Sample Dapp is explained. Difference between Test, Main , Private network will be explained. Integrating with Public blockchain website apis will be explained. Integrating with user interface using libraries and interaction with UI. 10 Min will be given to ask questions for participants.

• Introduction to Geth
• Creating a Genesis block
• Starting a private blockchain
• Mining our cryptocurrency for private blockchain
• Explaining Dapps , show the coding and geth requirements
• Difference between Test, Main, and Private networks
• Integrating private network with user interface
• Integrating Public blockchain website to our own application
• Code explanation of implementation of proof of existence, wallet creation Projects
• Explaining Hyper Ledgers mini application.
